Peace & Love

I just made these 'Peace' and 'Love' illustrations cause I love peace, love and creating illustrations.

They're not that good but It's not like I'm a professional, I do things cause I love doing them. The LOVE one is for Rasha.

The background was transparent for both pictures but my blog background is white and the white parts in the pictures weren't showing so I put coloured backgrounds instead.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

PhotobucketIt's my birthday today, which means I've lived on this here Earth for 29 years. How does that make me feel...not so good. Don't get me wrong, I know aging is natural and that never bothered me. I know that deep inside I will never lose my innocence, so it's not that either.

Well it's how many years I've stood still...
how many years I didn't give...
how many years I didn't make a difference!

I don't want to be a person who always takes takes takes from this world...and always just DREAMS of giving, but never gets to the GETTING THE DAMN JOB DONE ALREADY THING!!!

The only thing I want to celebrate today is that Allah has given me another year to try.

أشكرك يا رب و الحمدلله

Retro Kitchens FOR KIDS!!!

AHHHHHH I think I'll go crazy!!! THIS is the reason why I want to have kids:

These retro kitchens by Pottery Barn Kids are to die for!!!

and the supermarket!!!

I would've flipped if these were created when I was a child. I used to love playing house with my siblings. We had a supermarket and kitchen and stuff like that but they never looked REAL...I really envy children today...and hate them a little!!!

These are some less expensive looking ones from KidKraft that are also cool:

The Audrey Couture Muse Collection - Part 1 (Roman Holiday)

Rasha & bought the Audrey Couture Muse Collection a year or so ago to be the first bundle of DVDs to add to our ever growing classic collection, and what a way to start!!!

If you've never watched any classic movies but would like to, you should always start with an Audrey. There are so many good classics of other actors & actresses but Audrey's movies are on another level.
I think from the collection Paris when it sizzles (1964) & Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) are the only ones I wouldn't mind never watching.

PhotobucketParis when it sizzles is funny but that was shadowed by the unfortunate change in culture and morality. There were scenes that needn't be there but people at that time (60's) started to drift towards the dirty culture.

I hate watching movies from that time except movies in the 60's that are about the past eras like Mary Poppins or My Fair Lady.
Breakfast at Tiffany's has a few scenes that are a bit too much I think but not so much for the type of movies that were usually shot in Europe at that time. Nonetheless the movie I think was way too over-rated.

Roman Holiday (1953) was the first movie we watched from the collection. I watched it many many years ago, when I was around 13. That time I watched it with my older sisters and I was inlove with Gregory Peck (still am), but at that time I never used to remember the names of old movies or actors (no idea why), so I was extremely happy that I finally knew which movie I fell inlove with.
It was shot in it's ENTIRETY in Rome hehehheh (that's what it said). I guess at that time, it was a big deal to shoot a whole movie in a foreign country, they usually made sets of the places.

The plot :  A princess from a country that shall remain nameless runs away in Rome because she feels she needs space to breath, when she meets a man who happens to be a reporter. All through the movie she thinks she's tricking him into thinking she's a school girl but he's the one who's tricking her into thinking he's a salesman? ...I forgot
It's a must see movie, Rasha & I constantly quote from it!!!

This was Audrey's first ever hollywood movie and she was exceptional in it. You can see a detailed story and her costume videos in the extra section of the DVD.

Gregory Peck was already big in Hollywood but he was extremely supportive of her. He was so nice to her that he even suggested to the director to have her name with his in the titles. He also pulled a prank on her that was also included in the was in the 'mouth of truth' scene. He pretended his hand got caught inside the was hilarious!

They became close friends ever since the movie. He even introduced her to her first husband, Mel Ferrer. She married Mel a year after the movie.

There are many funny scenes and funny quotes from the movie that it would be hard to include them all in one post...besides I'd be giving away the whole plot if I did that. So I'll just write my favourite quote, which is "nobody she come, nobody she go...absolutly nobody".

There were only two tunes repeatedly played all through the movie I think. One of them is the more romantic one and the other is a more dancy wancy fun one hehehhee. I think the second one should've been made into a full song with lyrics.

Here are some of the movies or series that mention the movie:
In Chibi Maruko-chan or ماركو الصغيرة  one of Maruko's classmates (the rich kid) said he's got an autographed handkerchief of Audrey Hepburn the actress from Roman Holiday.

In Only you (1994) They qouted the scene from the mouth of truth.

This is a behind the scenes picture of Gregory Peck & Audrey Hepburn in the scene where she wakes up and realises she's at his place.

❤ My Little Valentine ❤

Rasha & I are trying to make an anime series about a little girl that was inspried by one of our childhood (& adulthood) favourite animes Chibi Maruko-chan or ماركو الصغيرة in arabic.

PhotobucketThe main character is Noora but might change the name to Maymouna. She's 8 years old and looks a little like me (that's what I'd like to think).

She LOVES the colour green & her favourite food is sweet corn although she doesn't mind salty corn either.

She loves watching cartoons and playing with dolls. She hates going to school but does anyway.

PhotobucketHer little sister (inspired by MY little sister) is called Rasha. She's 5 years old and looks like Rasha hehehehehe

She's a little weirdo. Always happy and perky.

She loves all things pink and cotton candy. She also plays with dolls and follows her sister around trying to copy her.

I haven't done other characters yet because I'm also working on an educational book about animals that I might post about later on.

I'm really excited about the projects Rasha and I are thinking of doing because now we can finally give a part of ourselves to society and try our best to make the world a better place.

Most of the things in the anime are going to be depicted from our childhood memories but the place and plot is seemingly different than our life and family.

I think I had the best childhood anyone could have because I shared it with special people, but especially because I spent most of it with my pretty little sister Rasha.

She's 3 years younger than I am. I know many people who think that having sisters younger than a year makes a gap between them but I don't think it should. When you're a child, no matter what your age is, you're innocent until you grow up or are proven guilty. So why should age difference matter?!!!

I played with my cousins who were even younger and never had problems because even when I got to my teenage years I was still innocent, and so was my sister. That is why if she wasn't in my life I think I would've felt so distant from the world.

We made up the COOLEST games and we rarely faught...if we ever did it'd be for a few seconds. We were inseparable and still are الحمدلله.

Yesterday she wrote the most incredible thing about me on her blog. I was so moved that I was literally in tears and my voice was shaking as I read through it (it was a hilarious scene).
I always knew I had a special place in her heart but I didn't realise how big a place it was. I always tell her she's my soul mate (I don't think soul mates should only be lovers hehehhe).

I think the best soul mates are always those you feel no matter what...NO MATTER WHATTTTTT you do infront of them, you'll always be accepted. Someone that you could tell things to without the need to speak, someone that can read your mind and you theirs and someone that you sometimes think is a figment of your imagination (sometimes I have nightmares of her not being a real person because she's just too good to be true).

Someone like her...

My funny Valentine, sweet comic Valentine
You make me smile with my heart
But don't change your hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine, stay!

I love you my Rasha Rasha Arashoosh and may Allah protect you and keep you safe!!!

To blow or not to blow, that is the question

I've been having this hay fever/flu forever and it's all thanks to my sensitive immune system. Anything from dust to slight weather change effects me.

I'm doing my best to strenghthen my immune system but it's still doesn't go AWAY!!!

Anyway, having a cold means doing a lot of blowing and blowing is (I was told by my sister Rasha) supposed to be REALLY bad. So I searched for ways that are considered alright for blowing.

First of all blowing your nose is bad because it causes pressure in your sinus and plus my brain hurts when I do it. Constant blowing may also cause nose bleed and that's really annoying.

Well here are the steps to do it:
  1. Get a soft know it's soft if th Ply number on it is high (check the label...the more ply the softer the tissue) and any tissue that has aloe vera is PERFECT!!!
  2. Do not make a lot of pressure when blowing!!!
  3. Press one nostril with your finger, while you blow GENTLY on the other!!!
Easy peeeesy lemoneeesy
Oh and do not forget to try your best to actually CURE YOURSELF!!!

What you should do (cause medications are should not take any AT any time) is:
  1. Take a drop of vinegar with a table spoon of olive oil when you wake up (that is what the profit Mohammed (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) did.
  2. Boil an orange with the cover and then squeeze the juice and drink it warm. (that's what my mum does)
  3. Drink ginger with lemon & honey tea (Also my mother)
VOILA!!! These are recommended daily...even if you're not ill!!!
P.S That anime was done by you like it

We will miss you Elizabeth...

The most beautiful Hollywood actress of all time had passed away...
It is something so hard to believe...
She died and now all the secrets have died with her...

Elizabeth Taylor was probably the first actress I've ever known...even before I understood what movies were. I've seen a few of her movies and loved her acting. I need to buy some more of her movies...
I always wanted to look like her. Whenever you think someone's beautiful then compare them to Elizabeth and all of a sudden they're average!!!

I don't really know what to say about this unfortunate circumstance but that she is now with Allah so all we can do is ask him to forgive her.
